Statement from Jay Gonzalez Urging the House to Pass Wage Theft Legislation and Governor Baker to Sign it

“Wage theft in Massachusetts costs workers $700 million every year. When bad employers refuse to pay their employees for hours worked, they should be held accountable. The Senate unanimously passed S.B. 2574 “An Act to Prevent Wage Theft and Promote Employer Accountability.” The House should act now to pass the bill, and the Governor should sign it into law. Too much is at stake for workers to wait until the next legislative cycle.”
